ATI Case Study: City Of Albany
The City of Albany engaged ATI through a tender process to supply, install and maintain the City’s licensed microwave radio network.
- Client: City Of Albany
- Project Type: Wide Area Network
About this Project
The core scope of the project covered the supply, installation and maintenance of seven licensed microwave radio links.
ATI’s proposal included equipment supply, installation and commissioning of the required dedicated point to point microwave radio links to deliver services consistently and reliably between the Council sites. ATI undertook a comprehensive survey of each site, during these surveys ATI identified some sites where existing communications equipment needed to be rearranged to make space for the new radio equipment to be installed.
The move of the existing equipment was completed at the earliest stage possible to minimise any delays in the overall completion of the network.
The City of Albany Council wanted to ensure minimum disruption to their sites whilst the installation was underway. ATI achieved this by developing a project plan that incorporated an installation methodology for Council and we were able to maintain the critical services during the upgrade.
Prior to handing over the network to the Council, ATI conducted a comprehensive series of commissioning tests to ensure each link was delivered as specified to the satisfaction of the Council and that all equipment was configured as required. ATI’s project Manager ensured that all bolts, mountings and fasteners installed were suitable for the salty coastal conditions.
Upon successful delivery of the service, ATI provided a full set of As-built drawings and documentation to Council.
Onsite Mainentance Support
The Councils network is remotely monitored by ATI’s management system that allows our experienced technicians immediate access to the Councils microwave radio network to monitor external sensors and alarms 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
In addition, the City of Albany Council enjoys the benefits of ATI holding spare equipment locally for their network, this means that in the event of equipment failure we can repair or replace the faulty parts quickly and easily allowing the Council to continue using their microwave radio network without delay.
